Banana Puri

Delight in the sweet and fruity flavors of our Banana Puri recipe. These golden, puffed puris are a delightful Indian snack or dessert made from ripe bananas, flour, and a touch of sweetness. With a crispy exterior and a soft, banana-infused interior, they offer a burst of deliciousness in every bite.

Banana Puri Recipe

 500 ml Cake Flour
 2 ml Baking Powder
 250 ml Ice Water with 3ml Lemon Juice
 125 ml Melted Butter – (2 Tablespoon for the dough)
Syrup
 250 ml Sugar
 Pinch of Elachi Powder
 125 ml Water
 Boil the Sugar and Water together for 5 minutes.
 Cool the Syrup

Sift dry ingredients.
Rub butter into dry ingredients.

Add ice water to form stiff dough.

Divide dough in 8 portions.

Roll each portion into small rotis.

Brush each one with melted butter.

Roll into large circle.

Cut into ruler size strips.
Fold each ruler strip and press with rolling pin till it is flat (Not very flat).

Heat oil (not too hot).
Place banana puri into oil.
Use two forks and control the banana puri as it frys.
When fully fried layer will open as you use the fork.
Do not let it get brown.

Remove from heat and place on a cooling rack to allow all oil to be removed.
When cold, dip into syrup and roll into coconut.
