 125 g butter
 1 cup castor sugar
 2 large eggs
 1 tsp vanilla essence
  tsp salt
 2 cups flour
 2 tsp baking powder
 ½ cup milk

Preheat oven to 180°C

Grease and line 2 x 20cm tins

Beat butter until soft, add sugar and cream well

Beat in the eggs and vanilla

Sift dry ingredients and add with milk to make a dropping consistency

Divide into prepared tins and level the batter with a spatula

Bake for 25-30 minutes

Remove from oven and turn out to cool
